Director Alysa Nahmias follows four girls — Olive, Nikki, Shannon Elizabeth and Ara — as they set box-selling goals and face challenges during Girl Scouts cookie season. The film frames their efforts as a coming-of-age story that explores the joys, pressures and tensions around community and commerce.
Cookie Queens counts Meghan and Harry among its executive producers through Archewell Productions and is also produced by Gregory Kershaw, Michael Dweck and Jennifer Sims. Roadside Attractions announced distribution in March, and the documentary opens in theaters Aug. 8.
