A mentor who broadened his sound

Jean credits Quincy Jones with shaping his musical curiosity, saying Jones taught him music theory and urged artists not to be confined. He spoke warmly of Jones, who died in November 2024 at 91 from pancreatic cancer, as a guiding force in his career.

Seven albums, something for every fan

The first installment will be a hip-hop record called Clef Notes, which Jean teases will include guests such as Lil Wayne, G Herbo and Andra Day. The wider Quantum Leap plan will span R&B, jazz, country and more, giving listeners the chance to "pick the one you love."
