A family shaped by nature

William highlighted how his three children — Prince George (12), Princess Charlotte (11) and Prince Louis (8) — have grown up with Attenborough's programmes, which helped form their understanding of the planet. He also recalled the family's earlier video exchange in which the children asked the naturalist about wildlife.

Turning inspiration into action

Attenborough is part of the Earthshot Prize council and has supported efforts to find sustainable solutions. William thanked him for helping turn inspiration into real work; a celebratory film included past winners, finalists and supporters like Robert Irwin. The royal family and Prince Harry also paid public tribute, with Harry contributing an appreciation to Time magazine.
