The lot contains correspondence between Diana and classmate Katherine Hanbury: a simple birthday card signed "Diana (S)," and a three-page honeymoon letter dated Sept. 27, 1981, written on embossed royal notepaper. The envelope bears registered Perth postmarks dated 29 SEP 81 and the Royal cypher.
Gorringe’s will offer the archive on July 7 with an estimated value of $5,383–$8,076. Also included is the order of service from a Nov. 19, 1997 thanksgiving at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, held two months after Diana’s death in a 1997 car accident in Paris at age 36. Gorringe’s specialist describes the items as revealing a hopeful, domestic young woman who volunteered household chores and cherished ordinary pleasures. The timing of the sale aligns with Diana’s July anniversaries.
