Outside the Order of the Thistle on July 1 demonstrators held signs reading "Not My King" and "What Did You Know?", echoing scenes seen at Trooping the Colour in June and the Commonwealth Day service in March. Reports said Princess Anne appeared to tell her husband to ignore the crowds.
