Jessica Betts surprised Niecy on Aug. 7 with a giant bouquet of red roses and kept the romantic momentum with rose-filled videos on TikTok and affectionate Instagram posts. The couple also marked National Couples Day on Aug. 18 with joint photos, and Betts posted a loving tribute at the end of July calling her wife her everything.

Lessons, rules and a Mardi Gras memory

Married Aug. 29, 2020, the pair celebrated their fifth anniversary with a Mardi Gras-themed gathering at their California home — a nod to falling in love in New Orleans, complete with seafood boils, a brass band and a photo booth. They say marriage taught them to be intentional, loving and thoughtful; Nash-Betts also recommends keeping the spark alive and seeking therapy when needed.
